Where to Eat in Bacolod?
Since it's Masskara season, I think it's but timely to post about my favorite places to eat in Bacolod.
After living here for more than a year now, I think I've already tried almost 80% of the restaurants and cafes here in the city. My workmates would even tell me that I've been to more restaurants and cafes than they have.
So for those planning to visit Bacolod this month, especially next week, here's my top five pick:
1. Diotay's Eatery
Forget about Pala-pala. You'll love this place more and your wallet will thank you too. This is by far the best seafood restaurant (eatery) in the city Though the place looks like a regular carenderia, the food is exceptional and economical. They've got good service too! I especially love their garlic shrimp, adobong pusit and of course, sinigang na isda.
2. Bascon Cafe
It's a pastry shop and restaurant in one. I instantly fell in love with their shop in C.L. Montelibano not only because of the food but also because of the place itself! It's got everything I love in a cafe that's why when my boyfriend came for our monthsary in April, I took him to this restaurant. I love the vintage / country-style designs, the artworks and the arrangements of the tables and chairs. I love the facade too! Hahahahaha. My favorite is their adobo flakes and chocolate chip cookies! Oh yeah, their Baba Cake too!
3. Italia Restaurant
It's the best Italian Restaurant in the city! Unfortunately, I was not able to visit them in their former location (right beside Riverside Hospital) but good thing they moved near to our office and since my boss loves this place too and he knows the owners, this has become our go-to restaurant whenever we have visitors and client/supplier meetings. I love their Chicken Pesto and their pizzas! Their baked oyster is a must too!
Aside from their yummy dishes, they also display beautiful paintings and artworks that you can buy. With good food and great artworks, who wouldn't go back, right?
4. Sanders Coffee and Sausages
Discovered this place because our former office was located in the same building on 1st Street Lacson. I love their Chicken Pesto!!! They serve good food at affordable prices but just make sure you don't have other plans after 'coz the place will make you smell like food the moment you go out. The scent lingers even after several hours! hahaha
5. Cafe Bob's
This is a no-brainer. Cafe Bob's should definitely be on your list when you plan to visit Bacolod. Their pastries are to die for and they serve great coffee too! I also love their pastas and I've yet to try their Mongolian rice bowl. I heard only good things about it.
You might have noticed that I never included a chicken house in the list when in fact, Bacolod is the Chicken Inasal Capital of the Philippines. Hahahaha There's really no need to include them in the list since almost all Chicken houses in Bacolod are good and you'll find them all over the city!
